By Car - Island roads are well signposted and many have outstanding views. A number of roads are narrow, so please observe the speed restrictions and look for the brown signs directing you to attractions. Whether you choose to bring your own car of if you choose to hire one you can save time and money when using Isle of Wight Council's Pay & Display car parking facilities. You could save yourself some money by purchasing a Tourist Ticket. These tickets are available for 2,3,4,7 & 14 days and can be purchased from all Tourist Information Centres. Whilst visiting a Centre you will also be able to choose from a wide range of maps showing the Island's roads & attractions.

You could sit back in style and be chauffeur driven or hire a taxi or vehicle to see the sights.

By train - Island Line trains operate from Ryde Pier to Shanklin, via Ryde Esplanade, Brading, Sandown and Lake. The Isle of Wight Steam Railway connects with Island Line at Smallbrook Station. Rover Tickets can also be used on the Island line trains.

By Bus - Island-wide bus services are operated by Southern Vectis. Superb views are to be had from the top deck of a double decker. In fact all our buses are great for getting about and seeing the Island. Buy a Southern Vectis Rover Ticket and 'go-where-you-please'. Complete relaxation and no parking worries!

They give unlimited travel for 1 day, 2 days, 7 days or 30 days on almost all Southern Vectis Buses and at the same time save you money.

Cycle Hire - How about exploring the Island by Cycle? Venture a little off the beaten track and you will be rewarded with scenery that will take your breath away. Most parts of the Island can be reached by a network of over 500 miles of footpaths, bridleways and cycle routes, for which the Island has achieved national recognition by the Countryside Commission.

Horseriding - There are a number of excellent riding schools on the Isle of Wight where you can mount up for the day. This is a wonderful way to explore the many paths and bridleways that straddle the Island.

By Air - There are lots of ways to see the Island from the air, and have great fun doing it. You can go a pleasure flight by plane or helicopter, or you can throw yourself into the joys of paragliding along the coast, or hang gliding off a hillside.

By Water - It's stating the obvious but we are an Island and there's more than enough water to go round. Enjoy the waters by taking a cruise or even try your hand at sailing.
