Isle of Wight Family Attraction of the Year - Good Britain Guide 2004
This well established place focuses on big cats, with the main draw the collection of 20 tigers; there are few places in the world where you can see as many, or learn so much about them. A mix of Bengal, Siberian and Chinese- blooded tigers, each of the cats has its own distinctive personality; excellent talks by staff help bring these out. Look out for the rare white tigress Zena, and the unusual ginger tiger, Diamond. There are plenty of other big cats too, including lions, leopard and jaguars. Lemurland houses around 15 lemurs in a re-creation of their natural habitat of Madagascar. You'll also find a number of monkeys, insects, snakes and other creepy crawlies including tarantulas in the Arachnophobia exhibition.
Open daily: 11th Feb - 31st March & October 1000 - 1600, April - September 1000- 1800 (last admissions 1700)
November weekends - weather permitting. For further information tel 01983 403883
