Farmer Jack's Farm Shop

None

Farmer Jack’s Farm Shop offers local, seasonal and fresh produce directly from Isle of Wight Farmers. Situated at Arreton Barns, in the beautiful fertile land of the Arreton Valley, the shop offers both fresh produce and recipes along with an abundance of information about how it is grown and who produced it. The range of products are extensive with milk, bread, potatoes, vegetables and flour for staple requirements as well as Island Fresh Lamb, Isle of Wight Pork & Bacon, Local Chutneys, Arreton Jams, Cheeses, handcrafted cakes, Fresh Island Ice cream and Clotted Cream and much more.

The shop was set up in May 2005 by three established Island Farmers, David Brown, Arreton Vegetable Farmer, Stuart Pierce, Godshill Pig Farmer and Jill Cawood, Shalfleet Dairy Farmer. The shop has now been open for many months and has new lines of products available.

Seasonal information is available within the shop showing which vegetables are currently being harvested. Buying food locally means the vitamin levels have not been compromised with increased periods of storage and represents better, fresher flavours. The different seasons mean that the shop can smell of freshly picked Asparagus, crisp yellow Sweetcorn, sweet and juicy Strawberries or earthy Brussel Sprouts.

Promotions are regularly run from the shop - the Isle of Wight Sausage Competition was a huge success with an exceptional number of entries. The Farmhouse breakfast week will be celebrated with promotions, recipes and various activities throughout the week. Food week promotions are run approximately every six weeks, so why not pop in to see what recipes and ideas you can get for healthy, nutritional meals which represent low food miles, therefore helping the environment too.
