WINTER FAIR AT DIMBOLA LODGE – 28/29 NOVEMBER
.jpg)
Dimbola Lodge is holding a special Winter Fair over the weekend of 28 and 29 November, which includes free admission to its famous museum and galleries.
In the spirit of Julia Margaret Cameron, local artists and craftsmen will be selling from their latest collections. The delightful Cameron Tearooms will be serving home-cooked food and home-made cakes throughout the day – booking for lunch is advised.
Dimbola Lodge was the house of pioneering Victorian photographer Julia Margaret Cameron. It served as both her home and her studio, and it was here that she photographed the cream of Victorian society. An audiovisual display focuses on the artist, her photographic processes, the history of photography and the restoration of Dimbola Lodge Museum. Visitors can see a mock-up of a Victorian studio, where they are invited to dress up in Victorian clothing and take photographs of themselves as a souvenir.
Free Admission on 28 and 29 November (10am to 4pm) includes entry to the winter fair and the museum and galleries.
