WILL YOUNG & AMY WINEHOUSE CONFIRMED FOR ECO-FRIENDLY BESTIVAL 2008

Pop Idol winner Will Young and UK soul star Amy Winehouse have been confirmed to perform at this year's award winning Bestival, September 5-7 at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight.

The hippest family friendly festival, the line-up includes dance music legends Underworld, The Foals, the Breeders, Aphex Twin, My Bloody Valentine and the Human League. It's fun and quirky with an annual dressing-up theme and unusual attractions like the Come Dancing Spiegeltent and the Bollywood Bar and there'll be a crèche and acrobatics for the kids.

Eco-friendly Island

Organiser Rob Da Bank has a young family and is keen to promote the Isle of Wight as an eco-friendly Island. All generators will be run on cooking oil in the hope of reducing Bestival's carbon footprint, and those travelling to the Island are once again being encouraged to lift share - liftshare.org is a free site dedicated to organising lift shares around the country to and from major festivals. It is estimated that those using the Bestival liftshare website last year saved five tonnes of CO2 emissions, 1,696 trees and significantly reduced congestion on the Island throughout the weekend.
