Musical March on the Isle of Wight

The Isle of Wight hits all the right notes this March with a selection of musical events to keep you happy from Jazz to Salsa to some local talent at Quay Arts. Check out what's on offer;

Event: Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara
Details: Guitarist Justin Adams co-wrote Robert Plant's 2005 album 'Mighty Rearranger', and produced the 1st and 3rd albums of Saharan desert blues sensations TINARIWEN. He is joined by Juldeh Camara, who is a Gambian griot and master musician. Playing the Ritti, a one - stringed fiddle,he participated as a griot in traditional Fula society.

Event: Jazz Café
Details: The March Jazz Café at Quay Arts on Friday 14th features a very influential figure from the European jazz scene, Jim Mullen with Mike Gorman on organ and Matt Skelton on drums.

Event: A fun evening of Salsa and Jive
Details: This vibrant dance event for charity offers you an entertaining and fun evening giving you the opportunity to learn and practice Salsa with the renowned Moe Flex and Mo'jive, with energetic and fun teachers.

Event: Spring Blues 2008
Details: One of the UK's finest delta/slide guitar bluesmen, Papa George will be headlining the fourth annual Spring Blues concert. Supported by supremely talented sidemen Pete Stroud (Peter Green's Splinter Group/ Roger Chapman) on bass and Tom Compton (Johnny Winter) on drums, this three piece is as solid and vibrant as you can get, from hard driving R&B to laid back foot stompin' delta blues.

Event: Chumbawamba
Details: Chumbawamba are back, armed with acoustic guitars, accordion and trumpet, five-part harmonies, a bucketful of attitude and a new 25- track album called The Boy Bands Have Won.
