Cowes Powers off with U.I.M PowerboatP1 British Grand Prix of the sea 2007

From 24-26 August, Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, will play host to one of Europe's most prestigious Powerboat Festivals as up to 70 top international sleek, powerful machines compete for the challenge and the glory in a series of spectacularly exciting races.

During the three day festival Cowes is transformed by the anticipation, excitement and glamour of international motorsport. The boats reach speeds of up to 100mph as they race close to the shoreline in exhilarating and dramatic fashion, watched by thousands of spectators. In the streets, exhibition areas, stalls, bars and cafes create a carnival atmosphere, ensuring the Cowes Powerboat Festival is a memorable experience on and off the water for all the family.

The stunning coastal location, 30 miles of heritage coastline, and mild climate makes the Isle of Wight an ideal location for trying out an adventurous watersport, such as the physical challenge of powerboating - guaranteed to test the skill and nerve of thrill seekers!
