Ryde Arts Festival 7 to 13 July

Ryde Arts Festival

Experience Ryde as you never have before!

Ryde Arts Festival, the largest mixed arts event on the Isle of Wight, is a week-long infusion of local artists, musicians and performers - or put another way, a brilliant explosion of colour and creativity with just a hint of craziness.

The performance starts with the annual Arts Parade on Saturday, 7 July. Local schools and community groups will display creative carnival masterpieces in a procession through the town. Following this there will be live music and hip-hop demonstrations on the Esplanade coinciding with Ryde Regatta.

Some of the week's highlights undoubtedly include the unique 'Tea with Alice' event. Sit beneath the stars in the magical setting of The Orrey in Union Street and enjoy a recital of poetry from the legendary Alice in Wonderland. Alternatively get ready to take the floor in an authentic Tea Dance or at the first of its kind Gilbert and Sullivan Karaoke!

If the live film, art and poetry exhibitions leave you wanting more, listen to Deck and Fo'c'sle Shanty Singers or simply take a wander around the town to enjoy an array of impressive buskers.
