Get out and about and discover the Island's beautiful landscape on a winter ramble. The Isle of Wight has a wealth of footpaths and bridleways and is reputed to have more footpaths per square mile than any other English county - from a 60 mile coastal path, to easy circular routes, and short town trails - there are over 500 miles of well maintained footpaths to enjoy. Take a look at the routes available. Or pop into one of six tourist information centres.
Join like-minded people on one of the Winter Walks organised by the Isle of Wight Ramblers Association. A complete list is available from the IW Council's Countryside Section
Whether you want a family-run B&B, a secluded cottage for two, or a classy retreat, there's plenty of excellent accommodation to go around. Book on-line, or take advice from our Call Centre first - tel. 01983 8138 183. Alternatively, visit our accommodation section
Just imagine it - a country pub with a roaring log fire and a menu consisting of delicious local food and flavours. And when you dine out choosing locally grown produce, you are not only helping to maintain the Island's unique character but are also doing your bit for the environment. Pick up a copy of The Official Eating Out Guide - available from Island tourist information centres - see below.
It's not unusual for the Island to be basked in sunshine at this time of the year. However, should it rain, there are plenty of all-weather attractions to choose from. Try the Brading Experience (Wax Works) with its very own Chamber of Horrors, Dinosaur Isle, Britain's first purpose-built dinosaur attraction, or a pre-booked guided tour at Osborne House.
For more winter attractions, order a copy of the Official Winter Pocket Guide on-line, pick one up on board the ferry, or from any Island Tourist Information Centre.
Spoil yourself by indulging in a wide range of winter Spa, beauty and 'well-being' treatments widely available at hotels and beauty parlours across the Island.
