In March of this year Mark Young and his partner Lian Beadell of the St Helens Restaurant, were contacted by UKTV Food to be told they had been nominated for 'South East region Food Hero Award'.

Anthony Worrall Thompson and a TV crew came to St Helens in July and filmed Mark in action, feeding some of his most valued customers. Mark and Lian then travelled to Plymouth in September for the Regional Finals, where they cooked with the best of the Island's produce for Anthony Worrall Thompson and Gary Rhodes.

Mark and Lian are now nervously awaiting the finals and the result. The finals are to be shown on UKTV Food on 18 November. Programmes leading to the finals, featuring the filming at the St Helen's Restaurant will be shown on weekdays from 5 November. Visit their website and book a table www.sthelensrestaurant.com
