Isle of Wight Festival Dates Announced......

It's official! The 2008 Isle of Wight Festival will be held at Seaclose Park, Newport, on the 13th, 14th and 15th June 2008.

Vote now for your favourite acts in the 2007 UK Festival Awards

Once again, the Isle of Wight Festival and Bestival, held on the Island every September (www.bestival.net) have been shortlisted for a clutch of awards in the 2007 UK Festival Awards.

Both are up for Best Festival awards in their respective size categories, as well as Best Line Up and Best Family Festival.

The Isle of Wight Festival has also been nominated for Best Headline Act with all three of this year's headliners in the running, Best Party Arena for its Bacardi B-Live Arena and the Strongbow Cider House, while many of its other acts feature in the nominations for Best Dance Act and Best Pop, including Amy Winehouse, James Morrison and Paolo Nutini.

The Isle Wight Festival has also been nominated for Most Memorable Moment when Paolo and Amy Winehouse joined the Rolling Stones on stage during their headline set, while the event's organiser, John Giddings, will be presented the award for Outstanding Contribution to Festivals.

Bestival is also up for Best Fan-Friendly Festival, Primal Scream are up for Best Headline Act, while Suggs' invading the stage during Primal Scream's set has been nominated for Most Memorable Moment.

Bestival's Samsung Big Top is up for Best Party Arena, the Chemical Brothers, Best Dance Act and Kate Nash and Robyn Best Pop Act.Whilst Madness, Seasick Steve and The Levellers are all in the running for the Best Feel-Good Act while Kate Nash's Foundations and The Gossip's Standing in the Way of Control have been shortlisted as Anthems of the summer.
