Isle of Wight Folk & Blues Festival

None

19th-21st September 2008

Not to be missed - a growing festival on the musical Isle of Wight for a different interest market and variously described as a friendly festival with lovely vibe in a beautiful location. The Folk & Blues Village caters for internationally renowned musicians providing a great mix of folk, blues & rock music reminiscent of the late 60's for a wide audience, with Island food, wine and real ale on site. Rather flatteringly described as similar to Cambridge on a smaller scale, the line up is still to be announced for 08 so keep an eye on their website.

'07 musicians included Tanna, Fairport Convention, The Hamsters, State of Undress, Johnny Dickinson, Coalporters, Papa George, Tony McPhee, Dick Taylor with Phil May & Frank Holland, Jim Moray, Lisa Knapp and a whole host of other top names. This is a family friendly festival too, with Under 12's entry free and a childrens' craft and mini circus tent. Tickets on sale from January 2007.
