BCYC Panerai Cowes Regatta

Now in its ninth year, the BCYC Panerai Cowes Regatta has now become part of the prestigious Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge. From just a few boats when the Cowes event first started, 2009 saw over 60 entries taking part. 2010 promises to be an exciting year with some of the world’s most famous Big Class racing yachts attending.

Racing takes place all week starting on the Monday and also includes a round the Island race (weather permitting) on the Tuesday and a Challenge Day on Wednesday when any boat can challenge a boat larger than itself. The on-the-water action culminates in a Parade of Sail on Saturday 24 when all the yachts come together to sail past the Royal Yacht Squadron.

The event is not just about racing, it is also an opportunity for classic boat enthusiasts to get together and enjoy the spectacle and elegance of boats from a bygone era. For more information, have a look at the official website: http://www.britishclassicyachtclub.org/regatta
