The Mark of Quality

Eating out is one of the most important and enjoyable aspects of any holiday.

And it's because Isle of Wight Tourism understand that eating out is so important to a memorable holiday that we've pioneered a brand new scheme. Our Quality Award scheme is an excellent guide to quality standards and the use of local produce within an establishment.

The scheme is a guide - a mark of quality - to ensure your all-round dining experience is the very best it can be.

How does the scheme work?

VisitBritain assessors score participating establishments
in six quality areas:

Food
Service and efficiency
Cleanliness
Hospitality
Bar and restaurant
Public areas

Of the above criteria, the assessors pay particular attention to the quality and presentation of food, enthusiastic and friendly service, and high standards of cleanliness.
The number of participating establishments has more than doubled in recent years, and this number is growing all the time. And while not every establishment is included in the scheme, we emphasise it is in no way a reflection of their quality.

What to look for
Establishments which achieve a high result in the assessment process will display one of the new Isle of Wight Tourism Quality Awards. Here's how they work:

Highest Quality logoAward - The Highest Quality Assured logo is displayed when a business achieves an overall score of over 80%

Quality AssuredAward - The Quality Assured logo is displayed when a business achieves an overall score of between 60% to 80%

Local produceAward - The Local Produce logo is displayed by an establishment which regularly serves or uses Isle of Wight produce.

We hope that our Quality Awards scheme will help to make your stay on this beautiful Island even more enjoyable.
