Afton Thatch & Afton Thatch Lodge

The Lodge is a small thatched cottage set in the grounds of Afton Thatch, built in 1697. The cottage has been restored to a very high standard, with a generous open plan master bedroom on the first floor, making the cottage perfect for a couple. Two day beds downstairs can be used for small children or guests. Three french doors open onto the private garden and face over open fields to the downs and the sunrise. Old Coastguard's is a recently restored historic cottage set in the valley beneath Tennyson Down, one of the western-most points on the Island. The cottage is interior designed, featuring a luxurious log-burning sauna and outdoor shower. The main cottage sleeps 3 in a master and a single, with the option of sleeping two more on a sofa bed or two more again in the Lookout, a small cottage in the garden, from which the coastguards used to watch for smugglers coming up from Alum Bay.
