Once the home of Alfred Lord Tennyson, the Farringford is now a beautifully apportioned hotel, situated in 33 acres of mature parkland. Spreading beyond the hotel's own grounds are 1000 acres of National Trust downland making the hotel ideal for every type of outdoor activity.
Within the grounds there is a Par 3 nine-hole golf course, together with a nine-hole putting green. There is a heated outdoor pool.
The grounds further boast a hard tennis court, croquet lawn, poolside bistro and
bowling green. Locally, there is horse riding, cycling, walking and, of course, the sea is within easy reach down the coastal path.
The main house has 15 rooms, all en suite, with television, radio and tea making facilities. There are two bars within the main house, three comfortable lounges and a restaurant that boasts an AA rosette for its fine cuisine.
Within the grounds are the self-catering facilities, all of which have television, fully equipped kitchen, double sofa beds in the lounges and radio. All accommodation has direct dial telephones incorporating baby listening service.
Guests are very welcome to utilise all of the hotel facilities at no additional charge and join the hotel guests for breakfast the evening entertainment and dining events in the main restaurant.
