A warm welcome awaits you at our family farmhouse. The cottage is self-contained within the Grade II listed farmhouse. The house is spacious and comfortable. It’s furnished to a high standard and sleeps up to 6 people. It has 2 bedrooms – one double bed which is front facing with a balcony and a rear bedroom with twin beds. The bathroom has a bath and overhead shower.

Downstairs there is an oak fitted kitchen, which is fully equipped including a washing machine, freezer and microwave. There is a large lounge to the front of the cottage with satellite TV (including children's programmes)/DVD, comfortable three-piece suite, plus a sofa bed. Central heating/bed linen/towels are inclusive. Cot available and highchair if required.

There is off the road parking with room for several cars and a front and back garden with washing lines and private patio. Set on a working farm on the South side of the Island it is very peaceful and the views are magnificent from St Catherine’s Down. It is ideal for a relaxing or active holiday. It is excellent for walkers with footpaths to the local villages of Whitwell, Niton or Godshill. Nearby there are local cycle tracks at Merstone, which lead to the Islands capital, Newport or the other direction towards the popular town of Sandown. It is well situated for many of the Islands local attractions such as Blackgang Chine (theme park), Isle of Wight Pearl, Dinosaur Farm and the Needles.

There are excellent local pubs with restaurant a few miles away with children’s facilities and local convenience stores at Chale, Niton and Rookley.

DIRECTIONS:
From Fishbourne ferry: Turn right at traffic lights and follow signs to Newport. At Newport follow signs to Sandown. 2 miles from Newport turn right to Godshill. After 1.5 miles, at Rookley, fork right towards Chale and Niton. Stay on road (approx 3 miles until the Hermitage signpost). Turn right (Shiny Bricks Rd) and follow road to T-junction. Turn left (Dolcoppice lane). End of road turn right (Private Rd). Continue uphill until road levels. At Hermitage follow right hand fork up hill, drive through gates. Along track to gates signed Downcourt Farm and Manor.

From East Cowes ferry: follow signs to Newport, please see above for directions.

From Yarmouth ferry: Follow signs to Freshwater. Turn left (approx 3 miles) to Freshwater (A3055). Stay on road (approx 10 miles) to Chale. Turn left at Chale church (B3399) through Chale Green (approx 3 miles) to main crossroads. Turn right then (approx ½ mile), turn right (Shiny Bricks Rd), follow above directions.
