Castaway Cottage is ideally located for a holiday on the Isle of Wight. It is within 2 minutes walk of the shops, pubs and restaurants in Bembridge village whilst the sand, safe-bathing and rock pools of Ducie Beach are a 5 minute stroll down a quiet road.

The cottage, which sleeps 4, was formerly part of the Maritime and Shipwreck Centre but has been recently converted into a modern holiday home whilst retaining some of its nautical heritage.

Downstairs is open-plan with a fully equipped kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and washer/drier. The dining area seats 4 and the comfortable sitting room has 2 sofas, flat-screen TV, DVD, Freeview Box and CD player.

Upstairs are two bedrooms – a twin and a main bedroom with a draped four poster bed. The new bathroom has a bath with shower over.

Bed linen is included in the rental price but please bring your own bath and beach towels.

Outside there is private parking for 1 car and a sun terrace with table and chairs – ideal for enjoying a glass of wine in the evenings and watching the world go by.

Nearby facilities and attractions include Bembridge Sailing Club and harbour, safe sandy beaches and the Isle of Wight coastal path whilst the seaside holiday resorts of Ryde and Sandown are 15 minutes drive or a 20-30 minute bus ride away.

From East Cowes ferry, 2nd exit at roundabout onto Well Road, A3021, A3054 to Ryde, along Esplanade to boating lake, follow road round to the right onto A3055 to Sandown, B3330 to St Helens, B3395 to Bembridge.
From Fishbourne ferry, B3339 (Fishbourne lane), A3054 to Ryde then as above.
From Yarmouth ferry, A3054 to Newport, A3054 to Ryde then as above.
