GODSHILL PARK HOUSE ANNEXE (4 STARS):
Godshill Park House is a listed Regency Country House set in 4 acres of garden in an area listed as ''outstanding natural beauty''. It is surrounded by farmland and downland which provides a tranquil and peaceful setting. It is perfectly situated for walking and cycling with numerous cycle trails and footpaths which pass right by the house. Within a 10 minute walk you are in Godshill Village. Here there is 17th century thatched cottages, tearooms, gift shop, museums, and two pubs.
The ground floor, self contained annexe has a 4 star rating. It was once the library of the house. It now comprises a kitchen, bathroom, large bedroom, sleeping 2/3 and a cot. Also there is the beautiful sitting room. An IPod docking station is available. In the grounds you have a patio area and a garage.
GODSHILL PARK HOUSE LODGE (5 STARS & GOLD AWARD):
The Lodge is the west wing of the house and can sleep up to 6 plus a cot. Downstairs there is an entrance lobby, hall cloakroom, sitting room and dining room with open fires, kitchen (including dishwasher) and utility room. Upstairs there is a large hall leading to three bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom has a super king bed and leads to its own shower room and dressing room (which has plenty of space for a cot). The other two bedrooms are also doubles, one has a king size bed and the other two single beds. Both bedrooms have original walk in cupboards, so hanging space is never a problem.
The whole house is tastefully decorated from the beautiful antiques to the luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets and towels. The rooms are extremely spacious and have many original features. An IPod docking station is available.
Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the Lodge garden which is about ¾ of an acre and was originally the walled vegetable garden. The west side boasts an established herbaceous border, and fruit trees provide shade on the large lawn which is perfect for outdoor games or relaxing with a book. There are paved patio/terrace areas for outdoor meals and barbecues or just for enjoying a quiet cup of tea. The front of the house overlooks the original stone and brick stable blocks. The owners now use these for storage, but they add to the old world charm.
